Delhi Tests Automated AI-Powered Air Quality Samplers

Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has introduced automated air quality samplers powered by AI algorithms that can identify pollution sources in real time. These samplers, equipped with sensor arrays and machine learning models, analyze PM2.5 and PM10 particles to determine whether pollution is vehicular, construction-related, or from crop burning. Results are fed into a control dashboard at the DPCC’s central lab. The pilot project in Anand Vihar and Rohini sectors will expand to 150 locations by winter. It is expected to support better-targeted policies like fines, temporary shutdowns, and alternative routing of heavy vehicles.
